The Death and Rebirth of
Maria Sanchez

It felt like being dead; the voices, the light, they didn’t matter.  The thing inside that kept me alive was gone.  The worst part was that I had chosen this death.  It was my choice from the very beginning, I just didn’t know it, until it was too late.
When I heard the faint cry, it sent a thrill through my bloodied body.  There was an undeniable connection between that sound and living.  So, I took a breath and lived again.

Fiery Impressions Coming 2017

Nathan set down his load of boxes and pulled me toward him.

“I have a better solution,” he said. I looked at him quizzically. “We can get married,” he murmured into my ear.” But my body immediately stiffened in his arms. Nathan sighed. “Marriage is the next logical step, Madison. We could get an apartment close to campus. And since married couples can live off campus…problem solved.”
